Component analysis of the fat-soluble extraction from Lepidium meyenii Walp. by SFE-CO2

Abstract:

In this paper, different extraction methods for fat-soluble extraction from Maca is studied, including supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, circumfluence extraction, steam distillation, and ether extraction from Lepidium meyenii Walp. is analysised by GC/MS. The results show that the fat-soluble extraction from maca by supercritical CO2 is high yield (0.94%) and has high content of effective component variety, and the consuming of the extraction time is less(2h), compared with the traditional extraction method. Supercritical CO2 extraction method is more suitable for today's green low carbon environmental protection sustainable development goals.What’s more, this study laid a certain foundation for further in-depth study and functional factors of development in Lepidium meyenii Walp.

In this paper, by studying different extraction methods, including supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, reflux extraction, and steam distillation, the fat-soluble parts of maca are obtained. The extract yield, the types of active ingredients, and their relative amounts are used for comparison and analysis. The advantages and disadvantages of each extraction method lay a certain foundation for further research and development of functional factors.
